In Retently, you can assign a Relevance score to each topic, which will have a certain effect on the topic's Impact score. This article guides you on managing this critical aspect of the topic analysis, ensuring you have the most accurate insights possible from your collected feedback.
What is the Relevance Score?
Relevance score is a value between 1 to 5 that you assign to a topic, indicating how closely related the topic is to your core business. The more a topic directly affects your company, the higher its Relevance score should be.
By default, all new topics have a Relevance score of 3. However, you can adjust this score according to your business needs.
How to Manage the Relevance Score?
You can adjust the Relevance score on the Feedback Attributes page when performing one of the actions described below:
1. Creating a New Topic
When creating a new topic in our system, you'll have the option to assign a Relevance score. This score can be anything from 1 (least relevant) to 5 (most relevant). If you are unsure about a topic's relevance at creation, leave it at the default score of 3, and you can adjust it any time later.
2. Editing an Existing Topic
If you want to change the Relevance score of an existing topic, you can easily do so by editing the topic in your account. Simply navigate to the Feedback Attributes page, find the topic you need to update, click the edit button, and change the score as needed.
The impact of Relevance on the topic's Impact score
Relevance plays a crucial role in determining a topic's Impact Score. Remember, the formula for calculating the Topic Impact Score is:
(Frequency * Severity * Relevance) / Total responses
This means the Relevance score directly influences the final Impact score. A higher Relevance score will result in a higher Impact score, assuming Frequency and Severity remain the same. Thus, by carefully managing the Relevance score, you have direct influence over the resulting Impact score of each topic.
