You can export your Retently survey data to your data warehouse using Fivetran, a cloud-based automated ETL platform that moves data from multiple sources into centralized storage such as data warehouses or databases.
Fivetran supports hundreds of connectors and allows you to consolidate your Retently survey responses alongside other business data.
There are two ways to connect Retently with Fivetran:
Using the Retently Fivetran Connector (API-based sync)
Using Webhooks (real-time event delivery)
Both methods allow you to send Retently data to Fivetran, but they work differently and can serve different use cases.
Method 1: Connect Retently as a Data Source (API Connector)
This method uses Retently’s API to allow Fivetran to automatically sync survey data.
Step 1: Create a Connector in Fivetran
Step 2: Generate a Retently API Token
Log in to your Retently account.
Navigate to the API Token page.
Click Generate New API Token. The token only needs Read Only permissions.
Copy the generated token.
Step 3: Configure the Connector
Paste the API token into the corresponding field in the Fivetran connector setup.
Click Test Connection to verify the integration.
Continue the setup by selecting or connecting your data warehouse destination.
Configure the schema and finish the connector setup.
Once configured, Fivetran will automatically sync Retently data to your destination.
Method 2: Send Data via Webhooks
This method sends survey responses from Retently to Fivetran in real time using webhooks.
Step 1: Create a Webhook Source in Fivetran
Step 2: Copy the Webhook URL
After creating the webhook source, Fivetran will generate a Webhook URL.
Copy this URL for use in Retently.
Step 3: Add the Webhook to a Retently Campaign
In Retently, open the survey campaign you want to export data from.
Navigate to the Webhooks Export section.
Paste the Fivetran Webhook URL into the webhook configuration field.
Save the settings.
Step 4: Configure Webhook Payload Fields
You can configure which fields are sent through the webhook payload (for example, NPS score, response data, customer attributes, etc.).
Refer to the Retently webhook configuration guide to define the fields included in the webhook payload.
