Retently’s app in Zapier currently offers only one trigger - New survey response. A survey response contains the following customer data:

  • General info: First and last names, company name and email address.

  • Last score (ranging from 0 to 10)

  • Last feedback (any additional text comment)

The New survey response trigger is mostly used to export NPS data to other services and sometimes to trigger a specific event based on the data. But sometimes, the information provided by the trigger might be too general for your automation goals.

Fortunately, you can use Zapier’s filters to segment the new NPS data and create better scenarios in other services.

For instance, you can choose to export only Detractors responses, or you can filter only Promoters and assign them a specific trigger in another service.

The options are almost limitless and I’ll show you how to filter NPS responses.

Access your Zapier account and create a new Zap. Start with choosing Retently as your trigger app and select “New survey response” as your trigger.

To add filters, all you have to do is click on the (+) icon between the Trigger and Action apps. Click on the Filter button.

Next, you will be given a filter builder. You can choose any available data that comes with the Retently trigger and segment it.

In the example below I have filtered new survey responses and chose only Detractors (score between 0-6) and did not provide text feedback.

Add as many filters as you need and finally choose an Action app and set up the action you that will be triggered whenever you receive a new response that matches your filters.
