Sometimes, you might need to send a survey ahead of the automatically scheduled time. Fortunately, you can easily schedule an email or in-app survey for one or more contacts.
Schedule the survey for a single contact
To survey a particular contact, find them on the Contacts page and click the [•••] menu icon from the far-right side of the table row.
You will be presented with multiple options, but right now, we will focus only on these two:
Send email survey
Schedule in-app survey
Choose the option that you need, and on the next screen, you will be asked to choose a survey campaign which the survey will be delivered into.
What campaigns can you choose?
Send email survey: You can choose an active (switched ON) or paused (switched OFF) email campaign, as long as it has a survey template assigned.
Schedule in-app survey: You can choose only active (switched ON) transactional in-app campaigns.
When the campaign is selected, you will see some general information, such as the name of the survey template delivered to the surveyed contact, the Main Rating question (just for your general reference), and whether the campaign email Reminders option is active.
Note
Retently supports only email reminders, even for in-app survey campaigns.
Reminders will be delivered only if this feature is switched ON within the survey campaign and only if the campaign is active (switched ON).
If everything looks okay, hit the "Select time" button. On the next screen, you can choose whether you want to survey the contact immediately or schedule the survey to be delivered at a later date.
If you go on with the "Immediate survey" option, then the following thing will happen:
If you're scheduling an email survey: The survey will be sent to the selected contact right away and should be delivered to their inbox soon.
If you're scheduling an in-app survey: An in-app survey cannot be sent to a contact, as the contact has to access your web application where the in-app survey script is installed. So, the survey will be scheduled to be delivered as soon as the contact accesses your web application. Until the survey is successfully delivered to the contact, the survey will be displayed on the Queue page.
But if you choose the "Later survey" option, then the survey will be added to the Queue page, and when the time comes, the email survey will be sent to the contact, while the in-app survey will be scheduled to be delivered as soon as the contact accesses your web app.
Schedule the survey for multiple contacts
The process is similar when scheduling the survey for a list of contacts. However, in this case, start with selecting two or more contacts from the contacts page. To uncover the mass selection checkbox, hover your cursor over the name of a contact, and tick the checkbox that appears, which will automatically display the checkboxes of the other contacts.
If you need to select all contacts, you can use the selector menu from the menu bar.
Once at least one contact is selected, an Actions menu will be revealed in the menu bar.
From that moment on, you can follow the steps described in the previous chapter.
