When a customer answers a survey, their attributes are recorded in the provided feedback (displayed in the feedback item) and in the outbox record (hidden).

IMPORTANT: If the customer's attributes change afterward, this will not update the historical attributes recorded in feedback and outbox records.

The historical attributes provide more accuracy when you need to filter survey data based on past customer data. Click here to learn more about historical customer attributes.

However, there might be cases when you might need to update the historical attributes in feedback and outbox records to match the data that the customer currently has.

There are a few ways how you can sync the current customer attributes and overwrite the historical ones:

On the Feedback page

1. Sync attributes individually per feedback: Find the survey response that you need to sync the attributes for, and choose the "Sync attributes" option from the actions menu.

2. Sync attributes in bulk: Select one, multiple, or all feedback, and choose the "Sync attributes" from the bulk actions menu.

On the Outbox page

Select one, multiple, or all outbox records, and select the "Sync attributes" option from the bulk actions menu.

IMPORTANT: If an outbox record has the status "Responded" then this action will also update the historical attributes of that feedback record as well.

On the Contacts/Customers page

You can update the attribute in all survey responses of a specific contact or a list of contacts. Instead of finding all the needed responses on the Feedback back and syncing the attributes, all you have to do is select one or multiple contacts on the Contacts/Customers page and choose the "Sync attributes" option from the action menu.
