There are two ways a contact can be unsubscribed from receiving surveys sent from your Retently account:

  1. They can be unsubscribed manually by a user.

  2. The contact can unsubscribe by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link from a survey's footer.

Therefore, there are two ways of resubscribing contacts:

1. If contacts were unsubscribed manually

A Retently user can resubscribe contacts manually from the Contacts page by accessing the [•••] menu and choosing the "Resubscribe" option.

If needed, the user can select multiple contacts and access the bulk "Actions" menu, and choose the "Resubscribe" option.

Alternatively, the user can resubscribe a contact from the contact's profile by accessing the [•••] menu and choosing the "Resubscribe" option.

2. If contacts unsubscribed themselves

IMPORTANT: If the contact has unsubscribed from the "Unsubscribe" option included in the survey's footer, then you will not be able to resubscribe them manually as described in the first chapter. A different set of actions are required instead.

Follow the tutorial below to learn how to resubscribe one or more contacts that have unsubscribed from within the survey:

  1. Delete the contact(s) from your Contacts page.

  2. Create a new CSV file and add the deleted contact(s) in the file.

  3. Upload the CSV file with the deleted contact(s), and on the last step, before importing the data from the file, in the "Additional options" section, in the "Customer has been deleted" field select the option "Re-add customer after upload". Learn how.

  4. Finally, import the file, and your contact(s) will appear on the Contacts page without the "Unsubscribed" label.
